NBA playoffs prove that there's no conspiracy

For those who believe the 9/11 terror attacks were planned by the Bush administration, that there was a secret shooter on the grassy knoll, or that man really never walked on the moon, I present an important piece of contradictory evidence: the NBA.
Conspiracies, conschmiracies. The biggest market is New York. The NBA offices are in New York. Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts and Diddy are in New York. But want to know how many championships the high-profile Knicks have won in the last 28 years? None. They produce a smash hit as often as that famous Knicks fan, Woody Allen.

Denver Broncos 2011 NFL Draft Results: No Run Stoppers?

Von-Miller-200x300.jpg

As I wrote in my team needs for the Broncos heading into the 2011 NFL Draft, the Broncos had the second-worst rush defense in the league last season and needed to address this problem with a big defensive tackle like Marcell Dareus or Nick Fairely. I also defined defensive end as an area of need because the Broncos had a lot of trouble generating sacks. With their first round selection, Denver took Texas A&M’s Von Miller, who was regarded as probably the best pass rusher in the draft. “Why is this a problem?” you might ask. After all, they

Tired of the same, boring NFL Lockout chitter-chatter?  I think that we all are basically on the same page regarding the monotony of this summer's NFL headlines.
De-certification has become....boring.

The perfect cure for what ails us is an article dedicated to the most hardest-hitting rivalry in the NFL today.  A ranking of the best of the best of what happens between the white stripes and not in a boardroom.

They have not missed a beat. This team is very welcoming, and we have adopted a Team First mentality where, no matter what happens, or who is in the locker room at any given tournament, we are all representing one country -- for ourselves, and for all those who would love to wear those jerseys with us. We are on a quest to build a culture that goes beyond any one season or tournament, and it's pretty exciting to be a part of it.

NHL says there are no worries about Blues

nhl-09-2.jpg

Commissioner Gary Bettman said Friday the league was confident a buyer would be found for the Blues that would keep the team in St. Louis.
"You shouldn't worry," he said.
As the league is coming off a sixth consecutive year of record revenue ($2.9 billion, he said), the league's third-best attendance for a season and a new television contract with NBC and Versus, Bettman said that should help the market for a team such as the Blues.
"This is a good time to buy," he said.
Bettman said the Blues would miss current chairman Dave Checketts.
"Dave put his heart

Jays reach .500 in spring training with win over Rays

DUNEDIN, FLA.—Brandon Morrow couldn’t dodge a bullet on Sunday, but his team did, beating the Rays 9-3 to even their spring record at 8-8.
Making his second official start of the spring, Morrow blocked a Tim Beckham rocket back through the middle with his right shoulder and the index finger of his left hand, the one that sticks out of the glove. However, he was able to come back out and work two more frames with no ill effects.
“The way the ball hit me, I thought it was going towards second base,” the Jays starter said. “It hit my
